Vex's Name- Deleted Scene
This scene didn't make the cut...but that doesn't mean it's not fucking good! When I was writing the scene before and after this cut, it just didn't feel right. Especially as I was editing the book. And at almost 450 pages? Overload is a thicc girl. So this scene got cut.
But that means that you get a small bite, a nibble of what is to come in Overload before it's released in January!
Expanded Edition from the short novella Wild Obsidian: Overload
Release Date: 1/15/2027
This book is for those who want a little bit of...bite in their romance. Who want the emotions to dig in and draw out your own healing... Enjoy!
Overload Blurb
Maggie lives her life contained—every sound, every texture, every sensation filtered through a nervous system that’s always one step from overload. She’s learned to survive by staying quiet, controlled, and alone.
Then Vex sweeps into her world like a hurricane and turns everything she thought she knew about herself on its head. He's steady, grounding, and unshakably patient. A man who sees her not as too much, but as someone who’s never been given enough safety to unravel.
When he touches her, her skin doesn’t crawl—it exhales. When he looks at her, he doesn’t demand; he waits. And when he offers her a space to explore the sensory world she’s always avoided, she finds herself wanting to step over that line between comfort and chaos.
But safety doesn’t mean easy—and surrender doesn’t come without trust.
Overload is a story of sensory awakening, neurodivergent connection, and the delicate art of learning that sometimes the world doesn’t have to get quieter—you just need someone who knows how to listen.
